The chalet and hostess Fi make me feel at home. She even offered to give me a lift to the tourist centre to keep my luggage there so i dont have to walk back for them. (The bus pickup is nearer there.) Not modern but clean and pretty well maintained. The idea of separate entrances to bathroom & shower area hv separate doors so they can be used at the same time by 2 users, but lack hooks and hangers in the shower area. Fixed shower head. There is a frosted glass at the sink/changing area so it feels uncomfortable. Great to the kitchen fully & equipped, down to the cutlery, cleaning detergent. Easy parking. washing machine available. Heater in the bedroom works but not the living room. Old style charging sockets (not usb) and plug extension wires so quite hard to charge phone in bedroom. No porch light Quieter as it is away fr main road but 10min fr city centre.

Location - easy to find and 750m away from the shop/ restaurant in the village. Parking - next to your room. Staff - Was really simple, just had to call for staff on arrival. Just dropped the key on check out. WiFi speed - 300 mbps down, 140 mbps up, was pretty consistent. Much better than expected considering the remoteness of the location. Amenities - Basic kitchen with a fridge etc, was perfect for sorting yourself out with some breakfast in the morning. Bed / pillows - Bed was comfortable and warm couldn't ask for more on a cold morning. Noise levels - could hear the freight train at night if you are a light sleeper. Temperature - comfortable Shower - Clean and functional Overall comments - Nice place in beautiful surroundings, would definitely stay there again.

Location just at the edge of the village is great although the trains are quite noisy overnight. Rooms are fantastic with very comfy beds and lots of space. Great kitchen with everything you need and lots of nice touches everywhere. Very organised couple running the motel. Super shower and very glad to have heat pump as it is needed overnight and there is a heater in second bedroom and heated blankets. Fiona and Pete are lovely and so helpful and just live their dream in the village. Well connected with information at their fingertips and involved in many community projects.

It was a very cute 1 bedroom apartment, close to the center of Arthur’s pass - a perfect jumping off spot for hiking. We were able to check in early so we had the whole afternoon to explore the trails. I liked that we could sleep in the twin beds in the bedroom, a bit further from any road noise. although the road was silent at night. The apartment was freshly painted and well maintained. The kitchenette allowed us to cook our own dinner. We would have loved to stay an extra night. The office had books and games to borrow but we were too tired to take advantage of that perk.

Loved this property in Arthur’s Pass! The lodge we stayed in had a comfortable double bed with heated blankets, a sofa, TV, DVDs (borrowed from reception), small dining table for two, a cooking area (stove tops), fridge, sink and cleaning supplies. The bathroom was small but well functional and had a powerful shower. Overall the lodge was very spacious for two people and we had a very comfortable stay. We were able to make use of the kitchen facilities too. The owners were very welcoming and gave us recommendations on local walks such as Devil’s Punchbowl.
